Launched in January 2017, Indivisible Chicago is an all-volunteer, progressive organization that is part of the national grassroots Indivisible movement. Our organization is part of an alliance of neighborhood chapters throughout the Chicagoland area, representing nearly 50,000 members. Nine years later, Indivisible Chicago is going strong and recognized as a national leader in the movement to resist MAGA extremism, advance progressive values, mobilize voters, and hold our Democratic elected officials accountable.

Indivisible Chicago’s proven track record includes helping to flip two GOP seats blue in 2018 by supporting Representatives Sean Casten (IL06) and Lauren Underwood (IL14). We helped rebuild the Midwest Blue Wall in 2020 by mobilizing the most out-of-state volunteers for both Michigan and Wisconsin. In 2022, we worked on key statewide House and Senate races across the Midwest.

In 2024, we mobilized volunteers to get out the vote in Wisconsin and Michigan to help elect Democratic candidates up and down the ticket. While the loss at the top of the ticket was devastating, we celebrated our other wins. In 2025, we launched our “Continue the Fight” strategy and shifted back to resistance mode. In 2026, we are taking action to both fight MAGA extremism and to take back the House and Senate in the November midterm election.

Indivisible Chicago also serves as a reliable partner for impacted communities seeking to elevate their causes. This includes support for our neighbors most impacted by the current administration’s attacks on immigrants and LGBTQIA+ rights and freedoms. This year, we organized some of the largest “Hands Off” and “No Kings” rallies and marches in the nation, drawing tens to hundreds of thousands of protestors to downtown Chicago to resist the authoritarian actions of the second Trump administration.
