Here's what you can do right now:
Illinois
Our top priority for the March 19 primary is passing the “mansion tax” referendum, Bring Chicago Home (BCH), to create dedicated funding to ease homelessness in our city.
➔ Phone bank with us and Bring Chicago Home on Sunday afternoons.
We provide everything you need--training, resources, and a crew of seasoned phone bankers who will welcome you in and share their experience.
➔ If Sundays don't suit you, join Bring Chicago Home for phone banks on other days: see the schedule and sign up here.
➔ Canvass with one of the campaign's neighborhood partners. They have canvasses scheduled on various days all over the city. See the complete schedule here.
Once again our council has voted to endorse progressive activist Kina Collins for the 7th district Congressional seat. Here’s where you can support her campaign with time and/or money: kinacollins.com.
State races matter, too. To find your district, visit the Illinois State Board of Elections, research your candidates, then join us in supporting Graciela Guzman for the Illinois Senate, running in the north side’s 20th district. gracielafor20.com.
Wisconsin
➔ Join the Milwaukee Voter Project
and register new voters in underserved areas. This is a popular project among Indivisible Chicagoans. They work indoors in comfortable DMV offices, registering people who are waiting in lines and have their IDs in hand. The first step is a one-hour Zoom training. To indicate your interest, send an email to info@milwaukeevoterproject.org.
➔ Become a poll observer for WisDems' crack voter protection team. Volunteers must complete a 90-minute online training session; six are scheduled between March 12 and 18. You can learn all about the job and sign up on this form. The requirements are not trivial but the job is done in a day and it's very satisfying.
Michigan
➔ Our on-the-ground partners at StateWide Indivisible Michigan (SWIM) have partnered with Field Team 6 for a pair of Michigan Monday phone banks to register likely Democrats. Learn more and sign up here for afternoon shifts February 19 and 26.
➔ SWIM and Field Team 6 are also texting on Monday March 4. If you have never texted with Field Team 6's BYOPhone program, you should attend one of three Thursday training sessions. If you are techy you might be able to train yourself with instructions available at that link.
➔ Join SWIM and Field Team 6 for Postcards and Pie Sundays starting March 17. The pie is virtual.
It's our future. It's our fight. Let's get to work and win again.
