Friday, September 23 - Phone Banks Next Week / MI Canvass 10/2 / Support Supreme Court Expansion 10/6

Actions You Can Take Today

Action 1: Phone Banks Next Week

Election Day 2022 is fast approaching, and we need YOUR help! There are three opportunities to make phone calls to eligible voters from your own home. Sign up for a phone bank shift and make a difference next week!

Action 2: Michigan Canvassing on 10/2

Next door in Michigan, the fight is on right now to preserve access to abortion and save democracy in this key battleground state. Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is all that stands in the way of a right-wing Republican legislature seeking to criminalize abortion and subvert free and fair elections.

Join us for a day of door-knocking and talking to voters about issues that matter to us all. For those interested in carpooling, we'll be meeting at Backlot Coffee, 3982 N Avondale Ave, for a 7:30 am departure (everyone will be asked to test for covid and wear masks).

Sign up to canvass in Michigan on Sunday, October 2

Action 3: Tell Durbin to Support Supreme Court Expansion

Join members of your community of a Petition Delivery at the office of Senator Durbin! Hundreds of people in your district have already signed the petition urging your representative to support the Judiciary Act. This game-changing bill will add four seats to the Supreme Court, eliminating the right-wing supermajority that has gutted the Voting Rights Act, turned a blind eye to gerrymandering, and sided with corporate special interests.

We’ll be showing up in person to put pressure on Sen. Durbin to vote YES on the Judiciary Act and to publicly announce their support for it. During the event, you will present a copy of the #ExpandtheCourt petition to a staff member, ask for a follow up from Sen. Durbin, and talk about why you want 4 MORE SEATS!

Sign up to attend the event on October 6, 1:30 – 2pm at Chicago State Office (230 S Dearborn St, Suite 3892)
