Action 1: Support the IL Assault Weapons Ban
The Illinois State Police (ISP) will be holding three public hearings to collect comments on the implementation and enforcement of the Protect Illinois Communities Act.
As a reminder, the Protect Illinois Communities Act (PICA) bans the manufacturing and sale of assault weapons in Illinois and requires owners of existing semi automatic rifles to register their weapons by January 1, 2024.
PICA serves as a vital shield safeguarding our most vulnerable members: our children, families, and communities, from the specter of gun violence. For us to finish the job on this life-saving action, we need to make our voices heard—and make sure the gun industry and their lobby doesn't drown us out.
We fought hard to set the stage for this kind of action—now, let's make sure it happens. We strongly urge you to submit your comment by November 20th saying that you support the Protect Illinois Communities Act.

Action 2: Dark Money in Illinois Schools Event 11/14
Join Indivisible Evanston on November 14 at 7pm on Zoom for a presentation and discussion on Dark Money in Illinois Schools. Cassie Creswell, Executive Director of Illinois Families for Public Schools, and Alisa Kaplan, Executive Director of Reform for Illinois, will discuss who is behind the right-wing efforts to ban books, deny the rights of LGBTQ+ students, and privatize schools in an effort to destroy public education.
You won't want to miss this important discussion on Tuesday November 14, 7pm, on Zoom.
