People's Hearing on Police Crimes June 3

CAARPR is preparing to lead a fourth hearing to give the community an opportunity to hear from the survivors and families that are the driving force behind the struggle for community control of the police and the Campaign to Free Incarcerated Survivors of Police Torture (CFIST). This year’s hearing will also be also be opportunity for newly elected Police District Council members to hear from individuals directly impacted by state violence.

The program will include testimony from survivors and an opportunity for community members to organize with others in their police district to take action.

Food will be provided, and the event will run from 3 PM until 7 PM, with the first half being testimony from survivors and family members and the second half involving breaking up into groups by police district to discuss plans going forward.
