Action 1: Economic Inequality Virtual Event TODAY
High levels of economic inequality can undermine democratic principles, concentrating wealth and political influence in the hands of a few. This concentration of power can skew policy decisions in favor of the wealthy, and erodes the voice and representation of the broader population.
We need to fully understand how high our economic inequality really is, how it damages our country - and what WE need to do about it.
Please come to this virtual event TODAY, Thursday evening at 7 PM for an in-depth discussion of this problem - what causes it, and what we can do about it.

Action 2: Blue Thursday Political Happy Hour: Our Sanctuary Summer
Chicago is scrambling to care for thousands of asylum seekers sent here without notice by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. As Mayor Johnson gets up to speed and the City Council settles in, Chicago's welcome so far has relied heavily on volunteers and community groups. Is it working? Is our Sanctuary City meeting the moment? What else needs to be done? What can Indivisibles do to help? We'll chew on these questions and more with Madison Savedra, who's been covering the story for Block Club Chicago, and Juan-Antonio Montesinos, a leader of the Chicago Volunteer Police Station Response Team.
Blue Thursday is our monthly political mixer at the coolest bar in town. We imbibe, we schmooze, and we hear from smart people about important things. All are welcome and admission is free, but please sign up so we know to expect you.
Doors at 5 PM, program at 6. If you can't join us in person, watch the live stream at facebook.com/IndivisibleChi, or catch the broadcast Saturday on WCPT 820, Chicago's Progressive Talk.
While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
