Friday, October 18 - On-Demand Voter Assistance Hotline Training / Wisconsin Wednesday & Friday Phone Banks

Actions You Can Take

Action 1: On-Demand Voter Assistance Hotline Training

The Michigan Democratic Party’s Voter Assistance Hotline takes calls from voters who have questions about voter registration, where to vote, or how to get a mail ballot. We also help voters who experience challenges during the voting process, like having their mail ballot rejected or being turned away when they go to vote. Hotline volunteers answer these voters’ calls and ensure eligible voters have the information and support they need to cast a ballot in this election.

An informative on-demand training video provides a comprehensive guide to becoming a skilled hotline volunteer. Whether passionate about civic engagement or eager to make voting more accessible, this training equips you with the tools and knowledge to effectively support voters across Michigan as a hotline volunteer.

Here’s what you'll learn:

  • Introduction to the Hotline: Understand the hotline's role in voter outreach and support.

  • Using Resources Effectively: Accessing essential information and resources to assist callers confidently.

All hotline volunteers must complete this training. Once you’ve finished, you’ll be able to sign up for specific dates/times to answer voters’ calls. Hotline shifts are 3-4 hours, and shifts will be available during the day, in the evenings, and on weekends. Sign up for the on-demand training.

Action 2: Wisconsin Wednesday & Friday Phone Banks

Voter contact is the way we'll win in 2024, and phone banking is a big, big part of that. Working the phones gets us to distant corners of Wisconsin where we can have the most impact. And it reaches more voters per shift than any other method.

Indivisible Chicago phone banks attract volunteers from New York to California because we've designed them to be easy and satisfying for veterans and first-timers alike. We provide complete training, extensive background resources, one-on-one support, and a hardy, enthusiastic band of volunteers who will welcome you in and share their experience.

Sign up for Wisconsin Wednesday and Wisconsin Friday phone banks between now and the election!

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
