Friday, December 13 - Tell Biden to Certify the ERA / Oppose the Nomination of RFK Jr.

Actions You Can Take

Action 1: Tell Biden to Certify the ERA

Women in the United States still lack guaranteed equal rights, with dire consequences. The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) has been fully ratified since 2020 and just needs one action to be added to the Constitution.

The ERA is vital for protecting against rights rollbacks, empowering the judicial system to tackle sex discrimination, and advancing gender equality. Urge President Biden to instruct the US Archivist to certify and publish the ERA.

Here are five things you can do between now and the end of the year. Take the challenge and do all of them before President Biden’s term ends!

  1. Call the White House Comment Line: 202-456-1111 (Open Tuesday–Thursday from 10:00 am–2:00 pm CT)

  2. Send an email to the White House

  3. Sign the League of Women Voters letter

  4. Contact your US representative and US senators and urge them to pressure President Biden

  5. Share this with your friends!

SAMPLE MESSAGE

I urge President Biden to instruct the US Archivist to certify the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA has met all requirements for ratification. Women’s rights are under attack. The president has the authority to act and must do so with urgency.

Action 2: Oppose the Nomination of RFK Jr.

Trump has a lot of wild nominations up his sleeve, but it’s absolutely crucial to speak up against the nomination of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services. His record of spreading vaccine misinformation poses a significant threat to our public health.

Here’s why your senator needs to hear from you:

  • Opposition to Science: Kennedy has repeatedly questioned vaccine safety, contradicting established scientific consensus that vaccines are safe and effective.

  • Erosion of Public Health Programs: His confirmation could undermine vital vaccination initiatives, reversing progress in disease prevention for vulnerable populations.

  • Threat to Preparedness: His history raises serious concerns about our ability to respond to emerging health crises effectively.

  • Increased Distrust: Spreading misinformation erodes trust in healthcare, putting our communities at risk.

Now is the time to stand up for science-based public health policies. Please contact your senator today and urge them to oppose this harmful nomination.

After you’ve emailed, call to follow up:

Thank you for taking action to protect our health and safety!
