Friday, February 7 - Demand a Town Hall / Thank Duckworth / Stop the Attack on Immigrants Rally 2/8

ICA Action: Demand a Town Hall from Members of Congress

Early this week, Hakeem Jeffries urged his members to hold town halls to listen to constituents during these challenging times. At Indivisible Chicago, we support this initiative, but we want to make sure it happens.

Send a letter to your members of Congress demanding they hold town halls to hear our concerns. We need them to speak out daily against the actions of Trump and Elon Musk, who are violating the Constitution and harming families. If they don’t act, Congress risks losing its ability to check Trump’s power.

👉 Use this form to send your letter, and feel free to personalize it. Share your story about what you fear most from their actions!

ICA Action: Thank Duckworth (And Tell Durbin to Join Her!)

In the early days of Trump’s presidency, many Democrats have engaged in bi-partisanship, supporting his anti-immigrant bill and nominees while staying silent on his racist, homophobic, transphobic, and xenophobic Executive Orders. Now, with Trump’s Executive Order shutting down federal loans and grants and Elon Musk gaining illegal access to the Treasury Department, we are witnessing a significant power grab.

Good news! Our pressure campaign is working—Senator Duckworth has committed to voting "no" on all Trump nominees. Now’s a great time to call and thank her for standing strong! However, Senator Durbin has not yet made that commitment. We need to demand that he follow suit.

👉 Make your calls today! Thank Senator Duckworth for standing up to Trump, and urge Senator Durbin to vote “no” on Trump’s nominees.

  • Contact Senator Durbin at 312-353-4952

  • Contact Senator Duckworth at 312-886-3506

Partner Action: Stop Attacks on Immigrants Rally TOMORROW

This Saturday, join us for a mass demonstration in solidarity with immigrants rights!

Trump is already attempting to make Chicago ground zero for mass deportations, and we must fight back with unity solidarity.

This action is being called in coordination with a national 10 days of action for Immigrants Rights called by the Legalization For All network.

👉 Join the rally TOMORROW, Saturday February 8 at 1:00pm in La Villita Park (2800 S Sacramento Ave)
