Tuesday, February 25 - Rally for Rally for the CFPB / Protect Medicare, Medicaid & Social Security / How to Build a Political Campaign & Movement

ICA & Partner Action: Rally for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Thursday

Financial safety and stability. A bulwark against another financial crisis. Access to safe banking products. Protections from digital payment scams and telemarketers. These are things we count on the CFPB to provide.

But right now there is an unprecedented attack on the CFPB by Wall Street banks, Silicon Valley tech billionaires and their allies in Congress and the White House. They are trying to roll back protections for everyday Americans to line the billionaires’ pockets. They want to circumvent Congress to eliminate the CFPB by returning all CFPB funding to the Federal Reserve and illegally firing all staff. Congress created the CFPB and funded it through the Federal Reserve following the Great Recession in 2008. Congress needs to assert their power of the purse and stop the illegal elimination of the CFPB.

👉 Join Indivisible Chicago and the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) at Federal Plaza, 230 S Dearborn St. at 12pm on Thursday February 27 to call for Congress to step up and protect the CFPB and vote NO on any budget proposal that does not require the Executive branch to maintain the CFPB.

Partner Action: Tell Congress to Protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security

No one voted to cut Social Security, Medicare, or Medicaid—these are vital parts of our social safety net, funded by our tax dollars. Yet, with Trump and the GOP pushing to extend the Trump Tax Scam for the wealthy, cuts are looming.

During his first term, Trump proposed slashing our earned benefits, and JD Vance has already targeted Social Security. The GOP Congress is considering cuts to Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act to finance their budget-busting tax breaks. Remember, actions speak louder than words—keep the pressure on them!

👉 Take action! Call on Congress to protect Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security funding! NO CUTS!
