Wednesday, February 26 - Tell Congress: Don't Cut Critical Community Services / Witness Slips / Indivisible Downtown Meeting 3/3
Partner Action: Tell Congress - Don't Cut Critical Community Services
Tell Congress to vote NO on H.R. 32, the Defund Our Communities Act. This bill would allow the Trump administration to strip billions in federal funding from state and local governments, jeopardizing essential services like health, education, and emergency response.
It would punish local governments for protecting their residents, harm all community members regardless of immigration status, and threaten local jobs and economies. Laws that safeguard communities from federal overreach enhance safety and trust, allowing residents to seek help without fear of deportation. Call and ask your representatives to protect vital funding and vote NO on H.R. 32!

Partner Action: Witness Slip Roundup
The Illinois General Assembly is back in Session, and nowβs the time to make your voice heard!
A Witness Slip is a person or group's position on a particular bill. Filling out a witness slip is a great way to let legislators know whether you support or oppose a bill.
Witness slips are read during a committee hearing and help inform legislators as to where people stand, allowing informed decisions when voting. Witness slips are a quick way to make your voice heard in state government.
π Fill out these witness slips as PROPONENT to support legislation that addresses violence against women, improves maternal & infant health, increases voting accessibility, combats discrimination, promotes gun safety, encourages representation, and supports survivors.
