Action 1: TOMORROW - Latina Equal Pay Day Forum
Latina Equal Pay Day is the day that we recognize the wage gap that Latina women face. This year we will raise awareness for Latina Equal Pay on December 8. More than 50 years after the passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, Latinas working full time, year-round and part-time earn only 54 cents for every dollar earned by white, non-Hispanic men. Latinas who work full time year-round earn 57 cents to the dollar.
Join HispanicPro - The Hispanic Professional Network for lively panel discussions and a networking reception on this symbolic day for Latinas at The Metropolitan Club of Chicago, Willis Tower. All allies welcome!
Join the forum TOMORROW, Thursday, December 8 from 3 to 7 p.m. at The Metropolitan Club of Chicago at Willis Tower (233 S. Wacker Drive, 67th Floor) - tickets $25.

Action 2: Menstrual Products in Prison Act
When menstruators in prison do not have adequate access to menstrual products, these are the consequences:
Medical Consequences: Lack of access to menstrual products can cause physical infection and disease, and can lead to cervical cancer or even death.
Safety and Abuse: Incarcerated people rely entirely on correctional staff to meet their medical needs. When correctional officers withhold menstrual products, the people in their custody who menstruate are subject to the humiliation and health concerns caused by lack of access. Additionally, in America, it has been found that correctional officers have used access to menstrual products to coerce women into sex. In other words, they are a tool for rape.
HB4218, the Menstrual Products in Prison Act, passesd both Houses UNANIMOUSLY!!! Call Governor Pritzker at 217-782-6830 and ask him to sign this bill immediately!
