Tuesday, July 26 - Tell Senators to Pass Marriage Equality & Right to Contraception Bills / Phone Banks This Week
Actions You Can Take Today
Action 1: Tell Senators to Pass Marriage Equality & Right to Contraception Bills
Action 2: Phone banks this week
Action 1: Tell Senators to Pass Marriage Equality & Right to Contraception Bills
Following the Dobbs decision, same-sex marriage and access to contraception are now on the chopping block for the Republican Supreme Court. We cannot allow the MAGA-led rollback of our rights to continue -- not while our senators have the power to intervene. Voting against these bills would be wildly unpopular and put these politicians’ careers in jeopardy (which is why we saw some House Republicans vote with Democrats on these bills).
Let our Senators know you want them to pass the Respect for Marriage Act and the Right to Contraception Act immediately. We can’t afford to wait while our fundamental rights are being stripped before our very eyes, like with abortion rights.

Action 2: Phone Banks This Week!
There are THREE opportunities to phone bank this week to help build our 2022 progressive coalition!
TODAY - Phone bank for Lauren Underwood at 6 p.m. We backed Lauren Underwood in her first run for Congress, in 2018, and since the she has been making us proud and impressing her constituents. But her district has been redrawn to include many voters who are not familiar with her accomplishments. And the the Rs will be coming after her this fall with all the dark money and name-calling they can muster. Help us get her story out in our weekly phone bank.
TOMORROW - Wisconsin phone bank at 4 p.m. We've teamed up with WisDems to reach voters who lean Democratic but don't always vote. We'll be emphasizing the importance of voting in 2022, encouraging them to apply for mail-in ballots, answering questions when we can, and directing them to WisDems' excellent voter hotline.
Saturday, July 30 at 4 p.m. We'll be phone-bank partying every Saturday until the Saturday before the November election for candidates like Lauren Underwood, Cindy Cunningham, and Debbie Davis.
Can’t make it this week? See all upcoming phone banks.
While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
