Action 2: ACLU Asylum Webinar 10/12
From Texas to New York and beyond, communities are working diligently to support people seeking asylum and a better life in the United States. But this story is being lost in the media, with anti-immigrant lawmakers politicizing the arrival of our new neighbors. Lawmakers across the political spectrum have sown confusion about the asylum law, and what is needed to ensure a fair and orderly system for people seeking protection at the border, as well as what is needed to support them and the cities and communities they are joining.
On October 12, hear from ACLU experts about the situation on the ground — and how you can make a difference.
We’ll hear from ACLU attorneys, campaign experts, and policy advisers about what’s happening at the border in Texas and the national state of play in the courts and the legislature.
RSVP for the conversation on Thursday, October 12 at 7 p.m. CT
