Action 1: Sister District Virginia Phonebanks
Virginia is having a general election in 2023 and we must flip the State House and expand the Senate majority! Please join Sister District Greater Chicago to help elect top-priority Democratic state legislative candidates! We are making calls for Michael Feggans for Virginia State House District 97 and Amy Laufer for State House District 55.
Come one, come all! No experience necessary. Each Zoom phonebank includes training (returning callers just jump right in), sharing successes and asking questions throughout.
Take the guesswork out of volunteering, sign up for a phonebank, call target voters from home and make a real tangible impact.

Action 2: Stop the Loss of Life in Cook Country Jail
Since January 1st, 14 people have died while incarcerated in the Cook County Jail. From overdose deaths to loss due to violence, it is clear that people locked in the confines of the jail are not being kept safe. The conditions of jails are inherently deadly and negligence and abuses allowed under the Cook County Sheriff's Office have only increased the likelihood of preventable tragedies befalling those in custody.
Instead of acknowledging and taking responsibility for the tragic losses of those in his custody, the Sheriff has covered up these deaths, denied the inhumane conditions of the jail and implemented punishments that have worsened the quality of life of people incarcerated in the jail. This is unacceptable.
Join the Coalition to End Money Bond in calling on all Cook County stakeholders to work together to reduce pretrial jailing and address the conditions that contribute to deaths in Cook County Jail.
Please read our statement and demands and sign the petition to support improving conditions and reducing the number of people incarcerated in the jail. Your support is critical to getting the Sheriff’s Office to meet the following demands without retaliation against those courageous enough to bring attention to the jail’s life threatening mishandling of resources.
