Action 1: Action Hour for a Ceasefire TODAY
Please join us in an online “AFSC Action Hour for a Ceasefire Now” TODAY, Friday, October 20, at 11 a.m. CT. We are following the great example of our allies at Jewish Voice for Peace who have been organizing daily “power hours” to help their members take action and write to Congress during this heightened period of crisis in Gaza, the West Bank and Israel.
This Friday we will share an update from AFSC staff on the ground, then help you engage with us in making calls to the White House and your member of Congress, calling for an immediate ceasefire. We will also show a tutorial on effective letter writing and spend time writing letters together. We will share resources and other action items that can increase our collective voices at this critical time.
To register, please follow this link. These Action Hours will continue to be hosted on a weekly basis.

Action 2: Sister District Virginia Phonebanks
Virginia is having a general election in 2023 and we must flip the State House and expand the Senate majority! Please join Sister District Greater Chicago to help elect top-priority Democratic state legislative candidates! We are making calls for Michael Feggans for Virginia State House District 97 and Amy Laufer for State House District 55.
Come one, come all! No experience necessary. Each Zoom phonebank includes training (returning callers just jump right in), sharing successes and asking questions throughout.
Take the guesswork out of volunteering, sign up for a phonebank, call target voters from home and make a real tangible impact.

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
