Letter writing to Criminalized 2020 Protesters on Wednesday, May 31st, 5:30 PM at 719 S. State Street, Floor 4
Letter writing to protesters on Wednesday
During 2020, millions of people rose up to fight in defense of Black lives. In response, the state used rampant violence and criminalization to repress demands for abolition. Hundreds of protesters are still incarcerated or otherwise still being impacted by this repression. This summer, we ask you to join us in supporting these members of our movement family.
Please join a letter-writing event supporting criminalized 2020 uprising protesters, at Chicago Freedom School, 719 S. State Street, Floor 4 on Wednesday, May 31 at 5:30 PM! This is the first event of Chicago Community Bond Fund’s summer-long solidarity campaign to mark the 3rd anniversary of the uprising and support those still facing state repression.
We will share updates on uprising-related cases and then take time to write letters to them. Light refreshments will be available, the venue is wheelchair accessible, and masks are required. Please join us and bring a friend, as we remember the 2020 uprisings, support those who fought for justice, and recommit to the fight for abolition together. RSVP and get more info here.
