Action You Can Take Today

Honor Juneteenth

Honor Juneteenth

Juneteenth honors the end of slavery in the United States. Two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was signed, federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people were freed.

In honor of Juneteenth, find celebrations occurring throughout the city, or spend some time reflecting on actions you can take to help fight racism in Chicago and throughout this country.

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
