Action 1: Support Pretrial Fairness
As many of you know, the Pretrial Fairness Act will take effect on September 18th in Illinois, including an end to money bond! The racist and unfair money bond system has destabilized communities for decades, and with the new system under the Pretrial Fairness Act, release will be the norm as we take critical step towards creating safer communities for everyone. Thank you to the immense people power it took to make this possible.
While we look toward a future without money bond, we know the fight isn’t over. We need to ensure that our legislators know we support full implementation of the Pretrial Fairness Act, so take a quick two minutes and send your letters today.

Action 2: ONE Northside Town Hall 8/27
Join neighbors, community members, and elected officials for ONE Northside's Town Hall on August 27th from 3pm-5pm at North Shore Baptist Church (5244 N Lakewood, Chicago, IL). This is an opportunity for everyone to learn more about two important campaigns that will support affordable housing, mental health care and public safety in our neighborhoods: Bring Chicago Home and Treatment Not Trauma. This will also be an opportunity to hold our elected officials accountable in advocating for these campaigns to pass city council this year. See you there!
