Action 1: TOMORROW - Don't Let the FOP Undermine Police Accountability Rally
An arbitrator recently released a decision that Chicago Police officers facing discipline, regardless of the severity, should have the option to have that discipline heard in arbitration behind closed doors instead of going before the public Police Board. This is an attack by the Fraternal Order of Police on the system of accountability that the people have fought to create. Luckily, in order for this arbitrator's decision to go into effect, the City Council has to ratify the decision.
We are calling on all those who support the fight for justice and accountability to join us outside Chicago City Hall on Wednesday, September 13th at 9 AM for a press conference and rally demanding the City Council refuse the ratification of this decision. If you're able, we ask you sign up for public comment for the meeting.
