Action 1: Make easy and fun calls for "Wisconsin Wednesdays"
Building Voting Power Together in Kenosha Wisconsin
We are working with WisDems in Kenosha County to help build a long term "home team" in the northside of Kenosha city itself (KNT). The Goal over the next 2 months is to identify Kenosha North Town Activists who will carry the weight of shifting Kenosha away from MAGA not only with local elections in the spring, but become the core "home team" to win the Presidential and Senate Election in 2024 as well as working to turn Wisconsin Congressional District 1, blue .
Let's consolidate what we helped Wisconsin do over the last few election cycles!
Phone Banking to identify strong dems and encourage them to become activists in their own neighborhood Kenosha Northside. These should be EASY and FUN CALLS, because our calls are to folks who we think are strong dems, and if they are interested invite them to a gathering of volunteers Feb 29th.
This gathering will be part party and part kick off of Kenosha North Team. Those of you who participate in this project are also invited.
Sign up for "Wisconsin Wednesdays" phone banks evenings on Jan. 24th, Jan 31st and Feb 7th.
If you have never phone banked before please email Geri (geri@indivisible chicago.com) separately so we can pay attention to getting you started. For everyone, there will be a brief orientation to the short script, and the tech. As always there will be a debrief.
Action 2: Register Wisconsin Voters
Here’s a great way to increase Dem turnout in Wisconsin. The Milwaukee Voter Project (MVP) is a grassroots group of non-partisan volunteers who work to ensure that all citizens, especially those in underserved communities, are registered to vote and aware of upcoming elections. They register voters in warm, indoor offices (DMVs) in Milwaukee’s disadvantaged neighborhoods. The people there have their IDs with them and time on their hands as they wait in lines, so a 3-hour shift can be quite productive. This has been a very successful program and rightfully popular with Indivisible Chicagoans.
The first step is to attend a simple one-hour Zoom training. Three sessions are scheduled for next week:
Wednesday, January 24 - 7:00 PM
Friday, January 26 - 1:30 PM
Monday, January 29 - 3:30 PM
Interested? Send an email to info@milwaukeevoterproject.org.
