Tuesday, January 7 - Bracing for Impact Event / Tell Governor Pritzker to Protect Illinois

Actions You Can Take

Action 1: Bracing for Impact with Indivisible’s Co-Founders

A new MAGA congress has now taken office, and inauguration is around the corner. Some Democratic electeds are fighting back, while some are capitulating. Corporations and mainstream media are finding ways to obey in advance. But on the ground, we’re seeing the biggest wave of new energy organizing to fight back since 2017.

Join Indivisible’s co-founders Ezra and Leah for a live discussion about what we’ve learned so far from this new congress and how to prepare for what’s to come. Most of our time will be spent on Q&A, so submit questions and/or come ready to engage with your fellow Indivisible members from across the country!

Sign up for the virtual event on Thursday, January 9 at 2 p.m.

Action 2: Tell Governor Pritzker to Protect Illinois

With Trump set to return to the White House in January, we must act NOW to protect the rights and freedoms of all Illinois residents, especially those traveling from red states.

Help us call on Governor Pritzker to take immediate and proactive measures to shield our state from the harmful policies that Trump is likely to impose. It’s crucial that he uses all available resources to defend our progress and the rights of marginalized communities.

Here are the key points we want to convey to the Governor:

  1. Thank him for his leadership in opposing Trump’s agenda and defending the rights of Illinoisans, especially regarding reproductive rights and support for marginalized communities.

  2. Express deep concern about the potential federal rollbacks on critical issues like healthcare, climate policy, and LGBTQ+ protections.

  3. Urge him to take bold actions, such as calling a special legislative session, creating a state-funded legal defense fund, forming partnerships with other blue states, and implementing protections for out-of-state visitors seeking essential services.

  4. Reinforce the message that Illinois must remain a stronghold for justice, equality, and environmental stewardship.

Now is the time to make our voices heard! Please take a moment to contact Governor Pritzker and let him know we stand together for a safer, more equitable Illinois.

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
