RESIST: Stop DHS Expansion, Demand Accountability, Reject Pentagon Spending
As the Trump/MAGA regime continues to target vulnerable communities and put politics over people, we must continue to organize, speak out, and defend our neighbors.
This week, we’re asking you to take action in three important ways:
Stop the expansion of DHS and ICE powers–call our Senators
Stand with Lorenzo Salgado Araujo’s family and demand accountability.
Demand our Senators reject Trump’s proposed increase to Pentagon spending.
Stop the expansion of DHS and ICE powers
The Combating Organized Retail Crime Act (CORCA) uses organized retail theft as a justification to expand DHS surveillance powers, increase access to consumer data, and give ICE a larger role in a new intelligence apparatus.
The recent murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo by ICE is a tragic reminder of why accountability and oversight matter. We cannot expand DHS, ICE, and CBP powers while communities continue to experience harm.
The Senate could vote on CORCA this week, and both Senator Durbin and Senator Duckworth are original co-sponsors. Call now and urge them to withdraw their support and vote NO on CORCA.

Tell Senators to reject Trump’s $1.5 trillion Pentagon budget
While Trump pushes cuts to health care, food assistance, housing, climate programs, and other essential needs, he is demanding massive increases in Pentagon spending.
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) includes a proposed increase to the Pentagon budget. Congress should invest in our communities—not more unchecked military spending.
Call Senator Durbin and Senator Duckworth and urge them to vote NO on increases to the Pentagon budget.
