Action You Can Take Today

Action 1: National Activist Call 4/12

We know the MAGA majority in Congress is promising to hold the economy hostage in an attempt to cut critical programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Join us to learn how we plan to fight back and send a clear message that House Democrats will not allow American lives and livelihoods to be used as bargaining chips.

Join the National Activist Call: The MAGA Default Crisis on Wednesday, April 12 at 7 p.m. CT.

Action 2: Indivisible Lincoln Square - Meet Your State Legislators (4/18)

With the April 4th elections behind us (and wins in Chicago and Wisconsin!), and the next big ones in 2024, we turn to Springfield and what our state legislators are actually up to.

What role does the Illinois Senate have in drawing district lines for the upcoming elections for Chicago school board? What are the chances we’ll see action on a bill to curtail price gouging of generic drugs? How important are witness slips?

For answers to these and other questions, join Indivisible Lincoln Square’s Zoom meeting with Sara Feigenholtz (6th IL Senate district), Hoan Huynh (13th IL House district), Mike Simmons (7th IL Senate district), and Ann Williams (11th IL House district) at 7 pm on Tuesday, April 18. (The regular ILS business meeting will run from 6:30 to 7; all ILS members are welcome.)

Here’s our chance to find out what committees our reps are on, their role in each, their legislative priorities, what they will deal with this coming year, how constituents can give productive feedback, and how the grassroots can help.
