Partner Action: Call-In Day TOMORROW! Tell Pritzker: No Federal Vouchers
Governor Pritzker knows...the specter of federal vouchers is all tricks, not treats!
On Tuesday, October 27th, call and urge him to opt out of the federal voucher program and keep vouchers from returning to Illinois!
Every state must decide whether to participate in the Trump administrations' harmful new federal school voucher program by January 1, 2027. Governor Pritzker hasn't yet announced his decision, but we expect him to do so any day, and he needs to hear from public school supporters in Illinois that federal vouchers are all tricks, no treats!
Illinois Families for Public Schools and other advocacy orgs around the state are coordinating a mass call-in day for Tuesday, October 27th. Let's flood the Governor's office with calls to say: Keep federal vouchers out of Illinois!
π RSVP and we'll send you a reminder to call on Tuesday!

Partner Action: How Illinois Can Regulate AI 11/5
As Big Tech expands its reach, Illinois needs stronger protections for consumers, communities, and utility customers.
π Join Citizen Action/Illinois on November 5 at noon to learn about two bills we're supporting during Veto Session. We will be hearing from the Illinois Environmental Council, UFCW Local 881, and other coalition partners.
The POWER Act (SB 4016/HB 5513) would protect communities and utility customers from the impacts of data centersβ growing energy and water demands.
Surveillance pricing legislation (HB 4248/SB 2255) would protect consumers from companies using personal data to set individualized prices for goods and services.
