Indivisible Chicago is proud to be part of No Kings, a nationwide movement bringing millions of Americans into the streets to reject authoritarianism and defend our democracy.

What is No Kings?

No Kings began as a small protest on President’s Day in 2025, conceptualized by 50501, a new grassroots group, and grew into the first large national day of action on June 14, 2025. That day, millions of people gathered at more than 2,000 events across the country to push back against the Trump administration’s corruption, attacks on democratic institutions, immigrant communities, civil rights, and the rule of law.

Since then, No Kings has grown with each national mobilization. More than seven million people participated in over 2,700 events on October 18, 2025, followed by an estimated eight million people at more than 3,300 events on March 28, 2026. Together, these demonstrations have become some of the largest coordinated protests in American history.

Indivisible + No Kings

Indivisible has been deeply involved in No Kings from the beginning, helping build and coordinate the national movement alongside 50501, MoveOn, Public Citizen, the ACLU, and a many more organizations across the country.

Across all three national days of action, Indivisible groups and coalition partners have helped turn a national call to action into thousands of local demonstrations, bringing millions of people together in defense of democracy.

No Kings in Chicago

Here in Chicago, Indivisible Chicago works with Hands Off Chicago and dozens of partner organizations to bring the national No Kings movement to the streets of our city. Across all three national days of action, we have helped organize and mobilize Chicagoans for peaceful mass action against authoritarianism and attacks on our rights, freedoms, and neighbors.

Chicago has been home to some of the largest No Kings demonstrations in the country:

  • June 14, 2025: 100,000 people joined Chicago's first No Kings rally and march as part of the inaugural nationwide day of action.

  • October 18, 2025: 250,000 people gathered in Grant Park and marched through downtown Chicago to say: “Hands Off Chicago!”

  • March 28, 2026: 200,000 Chicagoans gathered again in Grant Park and filled the streets for the third No Kings.

For Indivisible Chicago, No Kings is an opportunity to build a broad, locally rooted movement for democracy, bringing together organizations and communities across Chicagoland around a shared commitment to resisting authoritarianism, protecting our neighbors, defending our rights, democratic institutions, and making our voices heard.
