ICA Action: No Kings Rally & March 6/14!

In America, we don’t put up with would-be kings. Join Indivisible Chicago and our partner organizations for a rally and march in downtown Chicago as we come together to say NO KINGS!

This national day of action is a response to Trump’s authoritarian attacks on democracy—from cracking down on free speech and detaining political opponents to defying the courts and enriching his billionaire allies.

On Flag Day, June 14, while Trump stages a made-for-TV birthday spectacle in D.C., we’ll show the country what real patriotism, people power, and democracy look like. Save the date—no thrones, no crowns, no kings.

👉 Rally and march with us on Saturday, June 14th, from 12:00 - 2:00pm at Daley Plaza.

Partner Action: Defend Medicaid from GOP Cuts

Republicans are fast-tracking a budget bill that would slash Medicaid to fund tax breaks for the wealthy. The result? Millions of Americans could lose access to life-saving care.

This bill would gut Medicaid by reducing federal funding for Medicaid expansion and imposing punitive work requirements, despite the fact that the vast majority of adult enrollees are already working. If passed, it could cause over 34,000 unnecessary deaths annually.

We can’t let this happen. Lawmakers are aiming to finalize the bill by Memorial Day—we need to act now. Cutting health care to fund tax breaks for billionaires is unacceptable. Tell Congress: Hands off Medicaid.

👉 Call your members of Congress and demand they oppose any budget bill that cuts Medicaid.

Script: Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I’m calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME] to oppose any budget reconciliation bill that cuts Medicaid, reduces Medicaid expansion, or imposes Medicaid work requirements. Medicaid is a lifeline for millions of Americans and rural health systems. Reducing its federal budget would cut off millions of people from needed health care and destroy lives and local economies.

Partner Action: Support Protected Bike Lanes on Clark Street

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) is proposing protected bike lanes on Clark Street between Montrose and Winnemac—and they need to hear your support before Tuesday's public meeting!

Protected lanes save lives, calm traffic, and make our streets safer for everyone. Progressive transit and safe street reforms aren’t just about bikes—they’re powerful social equalizers, expanding mobility and freedom for people of all economic backgrounds.

👉 Send an email to CDOT using Better Streets Chicago's email form to let them know you support safer streets for all. If you live in the 46th or 47th Ward, your message will also be sent to your alderperson.
