Partner Action: Support NEH Funding
The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the main federal funder of public arts and arts education, faces severe cuts under the Trump administration’s proposed budget, which aims to shut it down.
On May 2nd, the NEA informed grant recipients that their funding would be withdrawn, citing a shift to projects aligned with the President’s priorities. Many senior officials resigned, leaving the agency without direction and causing panic among art institutions nationwide.
Despite bipartisan support and its vital role in America’s cultural life, the NEA’s future is at risk. Congress must act to protect this essential agency from funding cuts and dismantling efforts.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME], and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I'm calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME] to protect federal funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities. Eliminating federal support for the arts and humanities will not only damage our cultural legacy and harm American families, it will also weaken the US economy and cost the US jobs.

ICA Action: No Cuts to Medicaid Phone Bank Wednesday
At the end of February, the GOP-controlled House voted for a Budget Resolution that proposes cutting $880 billion, primarily targeting Medicaid, which provides healthcare to over 72 million Americans. In Illinois, this affects nearly half our children, two-thirds of seniors in nursing homes, and 40% of all pregnancies.
The MAGA agenda seeks to slash these essential services, like Medicaid and SNAP, to fund tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy, despite the failure of "trickle-down" economics.
This budget isn’t finalized yet! The GOP is trying to push it through by the end of the month. We’re calling constituents in Congressman Bost’s District IL-12 to oppose cuts to Medicaid, which supports almost 200,000 seniors, children, and low-wage workers.
