Tuesday, February 17 - Stand Up for Transgender Healthcare / IL-07 Candidate Forum 2/17 / Stand up For Science 3/7

ICA Partner Action: Stand Up for Transgender Healthcare TODAY

The US Department of Health and Human Services has proposed two new rules that could make it almost impossible for transgender young people to get the life-saving health care they need. Every comment submitted will help protect the rights, freedoms and healthcare of one of the most vulnerable groups targeted by the Trump administration with this aggressive use of executive power.

👉 The deadline for the public to submit comments is 10:59 PM CST TDOAY February 17, 2026. Submit yours now!

These rules would:

  • Block Medicaid and CHiP funding for gender-affirming care for transgender young people under 19.

  • Take away hospitals’ & providers’ ability to participate in Medicaid/Medicare if they provide gender-affirming care to transgender young people.

Why submit comments?

  • Comments slow down the process of the rules being enacted.

  • When these rules are enacted, they will immediately be challenged in court

  • Comments will be part of the public record and help litigation.

ICA Action: Stand up For Science National Day of Action 3/7

Science is for everyone–and benefits everyone. Over the past year, the Trump administration has been stripping science for parts, just as they are eroding the democratic norms that make science, research, and inquiry possible. There is no life-as-usual, or science-as-usual under these conditions. It’s time–as ever–to stand up for science, for everyone who does it, and for everyone who benefits from it.

👉 Join with us on Saturday, March 7th at 1 p.m. at Federal Plaza and rally to Take Back Our Science!

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
