Friday, June 13 - 1 Day Til No Kings Rally and March! / Tell Governor Pritzker to Sign 2025 Bills / Pride is Still Protest ACLU Event 6/18
ICA Action: 1 Day Til No Kings Rally!
As we plan for Saturday’s NO KINGS! rally at Daley Plaza, we face the threat of the Trump MAGA regime escalating its attacks, including deploying militarized ICE officers into Chicago to intimidate and control.
Recent actions in Los Angeles show their willingness to violate our freedoms and rights. In response, thousands of Americans are organizing nationwide protests with over 1,600 planned events to demand: NO soldiers in our streets, NO disappearing neighbors, and NO dictatorship.
Chicago is a key city in this movement. We need you to join us and make your voice heard.

Partner Action: Tell Governor Pritzker to Sign 2025 Bills
The Spring 2025 Illinois legislature achieved major victories for women, families, and marginalized communities. Laws were passed to protect survivors of domestic and sexual violence, strengthen workplace rights, and support human trafficking victims. Improvements include better access to reproductive healthcare on college campuses and protections for providers from out-of-state legal threats.
The legislature also addressed racial disparities in maternal care, promoted safe birthing practices, and recognized doulas' vital role. Efforts to reduce toxic heavy metals in baby food, prevent child exploitation, and aid abuse survivors were advanced. Other wins included climate justice, prison oversight, and criminal justice reforms.
Your calls, emails, and witness slips made a difference. Let's get these bills over the finish line!
👉 Please contact Governor Pritzker at 217-782-6830 or email to support these bills now.

Partner Action: Pride is Still Protest: Panel Discussion and Celebration 6/18
Please join on Wednesday, June 18th from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the ACLU of Illinois’ offices for a special Pride Month panel discussion and celebration. We continue to see an onslaught of attacks nationwide on the LGBTQ+ community – especially trans people – which seek to strip away fundamental freedoms.
Together, we will discuss the historical and ongoing work of the ACLU, take action, build solidarity, and uplift and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
The event will feature ACLU-IL Senior Policy Counsel Aisha N. Davis, Deputy Legal Director Michelle García, Board President Jill Metz, Staff Attorney Mason Strand, and Director of Communications and Public Policy Ed Yohnka.
👉 RSVP for Pride is Still Protest: Panel Discussion and Celebration on Wednesday, June 18 at ACLU of Illinois
(150 N Michigan Ave).
