Partner Action: Attend a Juneteenth Event TOMORROW
It's Juneteenth week! This significant holiday commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to inform enslaved people of their freedom - over two years after President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
Celebrated by Black communities, particularly in the South, for decades, Juneteenth gained federal recognition in 2021 and has since grown in popularity nationwide. Chicago, having adopted it as a city holiday in 2022, will host numerous events to celebrate.
👉 Check out The TRiiBE's coverage for a comprehensive list of Juneteenth events around the city.

ICA Action: Tell Congress - No Kings in America!
In the face of the horrifying and illegal disappearance of our immigrant friends and neighbors, in addition to the endless other atrocities committed by this administration, people across the country have been directing their righteous anger into protest. Unfortunately, the Trump Administration has decided to take advantage of the situation in Los Angeles and has sent troops into LA in an attempt to provoke the people and exacerbate the situation. He is attempting to strike fear into the people and create a chilling effect on our exercise of free speech. We will not stand down; the power of the people is stronger than the people in power.
On June 14th, over 75,000 people turned out here in Chicago, thousands more across Chicagoland, and millions across the country, to say NO KINGS and oppose Trump's authoritarian actions. The very next day, Trump has promised to target Democratic cities with an even greater ICE presence. Who knows what is next.
We need our electeds to join us in pushing back against this abuse of power, and join our movement. We had the support of most of our elected officials on Saturday, with several speaking at events, including a rousing speech on Saturday in Chicago by Congressman Garcia, but we can't slow down now. We need to constantly fight back against authoritarianism and we need our elected officials to stand by us and join the movement.
👉 Send a letter to your Representative and Senators and tell them to join the movement and use their voice. We have provided text but encourage you to change it to use your own voice.
Indivisible Illinois Rockin' Zoom Phone Bank to Protect Medicaid Saturday
Join Indivisible Illinois to help us call voters in the 3 Republican congressional districts in Illinois to let them know that their GOP congressperson voted to make deep cuts to Medicaid, and what that would mean for them and their communities.
These congresspeople are: Mike Bost (IL-12), Mary Miller (IL-15) and Darin LaHood (IL-16). You do not have to be an Illinoisan to participate. This is the plan of the congressional GOP caucus. This is in the works in all of our states. We can call voters in these 3 congressional districts as part of a bigger project to make calls to voters in other states as well.
👉 Join the Indivisible Illinois Rockin' Zoom Phone Bank to Protect Medicaid Saturday at 4 p.m.
