URGENT: Tell Senators to Delay and Disrupt the Republican Tax Scam
Republicans are pushing a deeply unpopular and harmful bill through Congress before the July 4 recess. The House already passed a terrible version, and the Senate is advancing an even worse one.
The bill cuts taxes for the wealthy, slashes Medicaid and Food Stamps, and expands Trump’s deportation efforts, including thousands of new agents. It also threatens rural hospitals and adds $4 trillion to the national debt.
Public opposition is high—people value Medicaid, healthcare, and social programs and oppose tax cuts for the wealthy and aggressive immigration policies. The bill is not guaranteed to pass; House and Senate leaders must resolve differences, but narrow GOP margins and vulnerable members up for re-election make pressure from constituents critical. Public activism can influence the decision before it becomes law.
👉 Call your Senators now and ask them to do everything in their power to delay and disrupt the budget reconciliation process. Remind them that they can still take action now to defeat the tax scam bill.

Following more than a year of organizing from communities across Illinois, lawmakers approved the Funded Advocacy & Independent Representation (FAIR) Act. Upon implementation of the FAIR Act, Illinois will take a major step towards ending its public defense crisis by creating a statewide system of public defense.
Thanks to the efforts of community members, court stakeholders, and legislators, Illinois is set to bring its public defense structure into the 21st century and ensure that everyone is able to benefit from the hard-won rights enshrined in the Pretrial Fairness Act.
We need to make sure that legislators know that supporters of the movement for pretrial justice are very grateful for their support of the FAIR Act.
