People across the country, in both blue and red states, came together this weekend to show fierce grassroots resistance to defend democracy, rights, and freedoms. These powerful protests are part of a broader effort to stop Trump and fight authoritarianism. Winning elections and removing Trump and his Republican allies from office is crucial.

Swing Left is dedicated to helping Democrats win key races that can shift the balance of power. With important elections in California and Virginia in just over two weeks, your support is vital.

You can make an impact by signing up to phone bank in Virginia, where races for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, and the House of Delegates are on the ballot. Virginia is a bellwether for next year's midterms.

👉 Sign up to phone bank for Virginia.

Additionally, consider calling voters in California about Proposition 50, a measure that could temporarily redraw the congressional map. Its passage might help Democrats gain a fair shot at flipping the House.

Partner Action: Support ICIRR's Policy Platform

We are currently in a moment unlike any other. Over the last few weeks, the Trump administration has been intentionally targeting the state of Illinois, using ICE agents to spread their repressive anti-immigrant agenda.

This increase in immigration enforcement activity has not made anyone safer, as agents have been escalating their violent tactics in an effort to harm as many people as they can, regardless of immigration status. We must call this what it is - state sanctioned violence.

Our lawmakers have a specific role to play in this fight against ICE’s terror. That’s why ICIRR is announcing its platform called S.A.L.T: Safety and Action for Liberation Together.

S.A.L.T includes a series of bills we’re asking our lawmakers to support, which would:

  • Bar civil arrests by ICE and other law enforcement agencies at our state’s courthouses

  • Provide guidance for all hospitals in Illinois to protect patients and their staff from potential law enforcement activity, including ICE actions while inside their hospital buildings

  • Close loopholes in our state’s TRUST Act that ICE could otherwise take advantage of

  • Expand the protections provided in the Safe Schools law to early childhood and higher education spaces

We are asking members of the General Assembly to support our S.A.L.T platform and keep our communities safe from immigration enforcement!

👉  You can take action and make your voice heard by emailing your representative and urging them to stand against ICE’s violence by supporting S.A.L.T TODAY!
