Parter Action: Restore Funding for Life-Saving SNAP & WIC Benefits

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program provide essential food assistance to millions of vulnerable US residents. These programs not only fight hunger but also reduce child abuse and health care costs while improving recipients’ health.

If Congressional Republicans continue the federal government shutdown into November, the 42 million people who rely on SNAP benefits and the nearly 7 million pregnant people, new parents, and infants and children who depend on WIC could lose these food supports.

SNAP benefits are currently funded through the end of October, but the US Department of Agriculture has warned states that there will be insufficient funding to continue SNAP benefit payments in November. Meanwhile, WIC is already running out of funds, with some states considering a pause on new applications and others using their own funds to cover gaps. The Trump administration’s temporary and dubiously legal measures to keep WIC afloat will not last long.

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [ZIP CODE]. I'm extremely concerned about the impact of the government shutdown on SNAP and WIC benefits for millions of Americans. I’m calling to urge [NAME] to demand the use of USDA contingency funds and any other available funding sources to keep these programs running while still holding firm against any federal budget deal that does not extend the ACA tax credits.

Partner Action: Weekend Phone Banks

Thousands of Virginians from Alexandria to Richmond to Virginia Beach rallied last weekend. Now, only two phone banks remain to convert those supporters into Democratic voters in Virginia’s crucial November 4 election.

Why does Illinois care? Democratic governors are resisting Trump’s efforts to militarize states, while Virginia’s GOP candidate is a strong Trump supporter. It’s vital we help elect Democrat Abigail Spanberger as governor.Virginia’s results also signal how voters nationwide might vote in next year’s congressional races.

Partner Action: Postcards to Voters

Your handwritten postcards can significantly impact the upcoming November 4 elections.

In Georgia, all PSC seats are held by Republicans, and Democrats have a chance to flip two this year, which could lead to full control in 2026. Flipping these seats will protect families from rising electric bills, expand renewable energy, and support Jon Ossoff’s re-election and a Democratic governor.

In New Jersey, Congresswoman Mikie Sherrill is running for governor in a tight race. A win for Mikie, a Navy veteran and leader, will preserve the state's blue trifecta and continue progress for New Jersey families.

In Pennsylvania, voters are urged to VOTE YES to retain Democratic judges. Maintaining the majority helps protect fair maps, reproductive rights, voting access, and prevent gerrymandering.

👉 Request addresses to write postcards to voters!
