Partner Action: Stop Federal Anti-trans Healthcare Bills
The House has scheduled floor votes on two bills this week seeking to ban and criminalize gender-affirming care for transgender youth. H.R. 498, the Do No Harm in Medicaid Act introduced by Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX), would ban Medicaid coverage of gender-affirming care for trans youth, while H.R. 3492, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s “Protect Children’s Innocence Act,” bans all gender-affirming care nationwide and makes it a felony offense.

Partner Action: Protect State-Level AI Regulation
Trump has signed an executive order that aims to block state-level regulation of AI, though the federal executive branch does not have legal authority to do so. Congressional Republicans failed to sneak similar language into law through the NDAA. While states will certainly challenge the legality of this order, Congress must work to pass strong and effective regulation of AI at the federal level instead of hindering the safeguards put in place by the states.
