Wednesday, May 20 - Witness Slip Roundup / Randy Villegas Phone Banks / Election Protection Virtual Workshop
Community Action: Witness Slip Roundup
The Illinois General Assembly is back in Session, and nowโs the time to make your voice heard! A Witness Slip is a person or group's position on a particular bill. Filling out a witness slip is a great way to let legislators know whether you support or oppose a bill.
Witness slips are read during a committee hearing and help inform legislators as to where people stand, allowing informed decisions when voting. Witness slips are a quick way to make your voice heard in state government.
๐ Fill out these witness slips as PROPONENT to support legislation that modernizes survivor protections for the digital age, expands access to menopause care, safeguards personal health autonomy, invests in preventative healthcare services, and ensures dignity and equity for all workers.
Not sure how to fill out a witness slip? Check the link above for instructions!

PROTECTING VOTER DATA: Learn how organizations are working to keep state voter files secure, and how you can help by supporting these efforts to keep our information private.
COUNTERING VOTER SUPPRESSION: Learn how organizations are preparing to identify and stop suppression tactics before they happen, and how you can help by joining local monitoring and rapid-response networks.
POLLING PLACE INTEGRITY: Learn about the federal laws that protect voters from intimidation, and how you can help by volunteering at the polls or by sharing "Know Your Rights" information regarding the presence of ICE or other unauthorized agents at the polls.
