Indivisible Action: Tell your Democratic Senator to FIGHT LIKE HELL this Budget Season

Federal government funding runs out on September 30 – and Republicans need Democrats’ votes to clear the filibuster and avoid a government shutdown. Democrats have real leverage, and they MUST use it to protect our rights, healthcare, and essential services!

During the last big funding fight, your senator and nine other weak-willed Dems surrendered – handing Trump a blank check to sow chaos and terrorize our chaos. It was outright cowardice, and we deserve better this time around.

👉 Use this form to call your Democratic senator. Urge them to FIGHT LIKE HELL to protect our care and communities!

ICA Partner Action: Honk for Free Speech/Free Elections 9/28

Defend free speech and free elections! No ICE! No Kings! Hands off Chicago! Lincoln Square stands united!

Bring homemade signs, sidewalk chalk, whistles, and noise makers! Suggested slogans for signs: No ICE in Chicago! Defend Freedom of Speech! Hands Off Our Elections! Hands Off Chicago!

👉 Join the event on Sunday, September 28 at 11:30 a.m.

We'll meet up at the southeast corner of Welles Park (Montrose and Lincoln) to attract honks at that intersection. As more sign-holders show up, we'll add other close-by intersections (Montrose and Western, Lincoln/Irving Park/Damen, etc.).

ICA Partner Action: Show Up Chicago 9/29

his summer, in a rare display of unanimity, Chicago’s City Council made it much easier for developers to construct new housing, by eliminating parking-space minimums for many new projects built close to public transportation. The easy vote graphically demonstrated the extent of Chicago’s housing shortage and the imaginative attempts being made to solve it—which will be our topics at the September Show Up Chicago.

How did we get into this mess? How do we get out of it? What else can be done to increase the housing supply and how can we help? Our guest speakers will be Alder Andre Vasquez, a council leader on housing issues, and Richard Day, who writes on housing and infrastructure issues for the must-read Substack newsletter A City That Works.

Show Up Chicago is a monthly community gathering/panel show/happy hour at Chicago's most highly evolved saloon. It’s a great opportunity to meet like-minded neighbors, hear the latest from political insiders, and talk about what’s happening, what should be happening, and how we can make it happen.

👉 Join Show Up Chicago on Monday, September 29, 7 – 8pm at The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia Ave). Free and open to all, but please RSVP.
