Wednesday, September 9 - Wisconsin Wednesday: Phone Bank and Canvass / Federal Voucher Program Virtual Forum 9/15 / Downtown Chapter Meeting 9/14
ICA Action: Wisconsin Wednesday: Phone Bank and Canvass
Wisconsin is key to winning back power in the Midterms this November. And just winning isn't enough--we need A WIN THAT'S TOO BIG TO RIG!
There's a lot at stake in Wisconsin--we we can flip some key congressional seats from red to blue, we need to hold on to the Governorship and it's possible we can win a trifecta - the Governor plus a veto proof majority in the State legislature.
👉 Join us for Wisconsin Wednesday phone banks -- today and every week!
Our phone banks attract awesome volunteers from all across the country. We provide training, background resources, one-on-one support throughout your shift, and we’ll be using a state-of-the-art autodialer that connects you quickly with voters.
👉 Join us for the next Wisconsin canvass on Saturday, September 12.
We'll make the less than 90-minute drive from Chicago to our meetup location in Wisconsin (exact location coming soon). We’ll have a pre-canvass briefing once we get there, then split off into pairs to knock doors and talk with voters. We'll provide all the info and prep you'll need and will have carpools for anyone needing a ride.
Can't make it this week? Check our calendar for upcoming sessions.
Need a canvassing refresher? Join a virtual session of the Yes You Canvass training TOMORROW!
Community Action: Federal Voucher Program Virtual Forum 9/15
The majority of Illinois families want a well-resourced public school in their neighborhood. But the federal government is now rolling out a school voucher program that will send billions of tax dollars to private schools with a faint promise that some money can go to individual public school students. Illinois has the choice of participating or opting out. What does this program mean for the future of our public schools in Illinois?
School leaders, community members, parents and teachers can learn about:
How this program will harm our public schools and hurt education equity
How you can educate and organize your community to advocate for keeping vouchers out of Illinois and strengthen our public schools
Chapter Action: Indivisible Downtown Meeting 9/14
We’ll gather from 6:30 to 7:00 PM to order refreshments, catch up, and pick up postcards before jumping into our meeting from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. It’s a great opportunity to connect with fellow local progressives and take action together. Hope to see you there!
While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from community partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
