ICA Action: Wisconsin Canvass 9/26
Join Indivisible Chicago knocking doors in Wisconsin. Winning back the House is crucial to halting the disastrous policies of Trump’s second term. So we’re focused on Wisconsin Congressional District 1 where Mitch Berman, a progressive Democrat, has a good shot at unseating a Republican incumbent with a Trump support score of 99% in 2025.
And we’ll also be helping build a Democratic majority in Wisconsin.
Don’t be lulled by headlines about Trump’s tanking popularity. We can win, but it’s going to take a strong ground game to build a progressive response to the current chaos. We need to reach voters, talk about what’s at stake and let them know how important their vote is.

We'll make the less than 90-minute drive from Chicago to our meetup location in Wisconsin (exact location coming soon). We’ll have a pre-canvass briefing once we get there, then split off into pairs to knock doors and talk with voters. We'll provide all the info and prep you'll need and will have carpools for anyone needing a ride.
Community Action: Support the AI Kill Switch Act
AI companies have been deploying increasingly autonomous systems and recent incidents show these systems slipping out of human control. In July 2026, two of OpenAI’s most advanced models escaped their testing sandbox and hacked into the AI platform, Hugging Face, putting user data at risk. A month earlier during an authorized security test, Anthropic’s most powerful model broke into nearly all of the agency’s classified systems within hours.
These incidents point toward a deeper problem: AI technology is advancing more rapidly than humans’ understanding of it, and it’s not just outsiders who are alarmed by the pace. In July, more than 1,300 employees from leading AI companies signed an open letter voicing concerns that AI is developing faster than humans’ ability to understand, oversee, or control it.
H.R. 9917, the AI Kill Switch Act, is a bipartisan bill that would require AI companies to maintain the technical infrastructure to slow down, suspend, or fully shut down their models, report serious safety incidents, and submit systems for mandatory testing before deployment.
👉 Call your representative and urge them to cosponsor and pass the AI Kill Switch Act to ensure that AI companies are able to reign in their own technology in an emergency.
