This chat involved several top officials, including JD Vance and Marco Rubio, and used Signal, a commercial app that poses serious risks to national security. Former senior intelligence officers have condemned this breach as a shocking risk that typically warrants an immediate investigation.
Updates on March 26 confirmed that text messages from the chat were released, proving classified plans were shared openly, despite denials from Trump officials, some made under oath. A lawsuit has been filed against these officials for potentially violating record-keeping laws. House Armed Services Committee members are calling for an investigation and the resignation of Hegseth and Waltz.
