Tuesday, April 8 - Show Up, Get Loud Town Hall Training 4/10 / Reject Cuts to Medicare and Medicaid / Witness Slip Roundup
Partner Action: Show Up, Get Loud Town Hall Training Thursday
House Republicans, fearful of an Elon Musk-funded primary, are backing a bill that would kick over 15 million people off Medicaid, strip healthcare from up to 4 million more, and make it harder for 40 million to afford groceries. This is unacceptable! Meanwhile, they stand by as Musk exploits the government, compromises our data privacy, and fires thousands without cause.
This April recess, we need to protest against Musk’s rampage and these corrupt Republicans! If just three House Republicans defect on this bill, we can make it fail.
👉 Here’s how we can take action:
Attend upcoming GOP town halls or find ways to get involved if there’s none nearby.
Record and share personal stories to highlight the impact of these policies.
Get loud on social media to amplify our message!
Join us for a powerful training event on Thrursday, April 10 featuring Dan Pfeiffer and Leah Greenberg to equip you with the tools to make a difference. Let’s put real faces behind these numbers!

Partner Action: Reject Cuts to Medicare and Medicaid - VOTE WEDNESDAY!
The House is set to vote on the Senate-passed budget resolution on Wednesday, April 9th. However, it remains uncertain whether the House GOP Caucus will unite to pass the Senate bill.
The Senate recently approved the GOP budget resolution by a vote of 51-48, with Senators Collins and Paul breaking ranks to vote with Democrats against it. This resolution would impose significant cuts to critical programs, including Medicaid and Medicare, while making the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent.
It's crucial that we advocate against this harmful budget that prioritizes tax breaks for the wealthy over the needs of millions of Americans. We must ensure our representatives know that we oppose cuts to essential social programs!
👉 Find your representative and call to demand they vote against these cuts.
Script: I’m calling to demand that [Rep. Name] vote against the Senate budget resolution that will slash funds for essential life-saving programs like Medicare and Medicaid to finance tax breaks for the wealthy. Congress must pass a budget that actually benefits all Americans.

Partner Action: Witness Slip Roundup
The Illinois General Assembly is back in Session, and now’s the time to make your voice heard!
A Witness Slip is a person or group's position on a particular bill. Filling out a witness slip is a great way to let legislators know whether you support or oppose a bill.
Witness slips are read during a committee hearing and help inform legislators as to where people stand, allowing informed decisions when voting. Witness slips are a quick way to make your voice heard in state government.
👉 Fill out these witness slips as PROPONENT to support legislation that addresses gender-based violence, improves maternal and infant health, and protects human rights Even if you have submitted a witness slip for a particular bill in a previous committee hearing, you still need to submit a new witness slip for this upcoming hearing.
Not sure how to fill out a witness slip? Check the link above for instructions!
