Tuesday, April 22 - Witness Slip Roundup / No Cuts to Medicaid Phone Bank / LGBTQ+ Advocacy Day Bus Trip
Partner Action: Witness Slip Roundup
The Illinois General Assembly is back in Session, and now’s the time to make your voice heard!
A Witness Slip is a person or group's position on a particular bill. Filling out a witness slip is a great way to let legislators know whether you support or oppose a bill.
Witness slips are read during a committee hearing and help inform legislators as to where people stand, allowing informed decisions when voting. Witness slips are a quick way to make your voice heard in state government.
👉 Fill out these witness slips as PROPONENT to support legislation that addresses gender-based violence, and improves maternal and infant health. Even if you have submitted a witness slip for a particular bill in a previous committee hearing, you still need to submit a new witness slip for this upcoming hearing.
Not sure how to fill out a witness slip? Check the link above for instructions!

ICA Action: No Cuts to Medicaid Phone Bank Wednesday
At the end of February, the GOP-controlled House voted for a Budget Resolution that proposes cutting $880 billion, primarily targeting Medicaid, which provides healthcare to over 72 million Americans. In Illinois, this affects nearly half our children, two-thirds of seniors in nursing homes, and 40% of all pregnancies.
The MAGA agenda seeks to slash these essential services, like Medicaid and SNAP, to fund tax giveaways for the ultra-wealthy, despite the failure of "trickle-down" economics.
This budget isn’t finalized yet! We’re calling constituents in Congressman Bost’s District IL-12 to oppose cuts to Medicaid, which supports almost 200,000 seniors, children, and low-wage workers.
👉 Join our Indivisible phone bank to help spread the word every Wednesday in April. We’ll provide facts on Medicaid and train you on phone banking.
