ICA Action: May Day Rally TOMORROW

Indivisible Chicago stands with immigrant communities and immigration rights. We're joining the Consejo de Resistencia en Defensa del Inmigrante this May Day, International Workers' Day!

We'll gather at Union Park with Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression and the Coalition Against the Trump Agenda to rally against the Trump Administration's policies. We're part of a coalition of hundreds of organizations standing in solidarity.

This nonviolent action unites diverse causes and communities affected by recent policies. We need everyone concerned about our city, nation, and planet to participate and be heard.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Join us TOMORROW, Thursday, May 1 in Union Park!

Partner Action: Support NEH Funding

As directed by the Trump administration and DOGE, over 1,200 grants supporting culture and history programs nationwide have been cut by the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Additionally, more than 80% of NEH's workforce has been placed on paid administrative leave. Millions of dollars in previously approved funding have been stripped from grants that support state humanities councils, cultural organizations, museums, historic sites, archives, libraries, and educators.

Acting director Michael McDonald announced that 85% of current grants would be canceled, emphasizing a shift towards โ€œpatriotic programming." Americans for the Arts and the National Humanities Alliance condemned these cuts, highlighting their harmful impact on communities and the economy.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Call your representatives to push back against DOGE and ensure the funding of the NEH.

  • Find your representative

  • Contact Senator Durbin at 312-353-4952 or at other numbers listed here

  • Contact Senator Duckworth at 312-886-3506 or at other numbers listed here

Script: Hi, my name is [NAME], and Iโ€™m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I'm calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME]  to protect federal funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities. Eliminating federal support for the arts and humanities will not only damage our cultural legacy and harm American families, it will also weaken the US economy and cost the US jobs.
