Wednesday, February 4 - Vigil for Federico Alexis Alcantar 2/7 / Rein in ICE Now / Senate Debate Watch Party 2/19

Partner Action: Vigil for Federico Alexis Alcantar 2/7

Federico is 22 years old. He is the legal guardian and sole caretaker of his younger siblings. Instead of being at home caring for them, he is currently being held in ICE detention. His siblings are now without the one person who has kept them safe, stable, and together. Federico’s case is a clear reminder of why our movement exists. ICE has the legal authority to release him through immigration bond or humanitarian parole.

Your presence matters. When our movement shows up together, we remind our communities that they are not alone and we remind those in power that we are watching, organizing, and refusing to accept detention as normal.

We hope you will join us in demanding what should never be up for debate: a young man caring for his siblings belongs at home, not behind bars.

👉 Join the Vigil for Federico Alexis Alcantar on Saturday, February 7th from 10:00-11am

Indivisible Action: Rein in ICE Now

Yesterday's House vote buys time, not solutions. The fight is now squarely on DHS and Republicans are on their back foot. Democrats have less than two weeks to press their advantage — they must hold the line and refuse to fund DHS without ironclad limits on ICE and CBP.

That includes real accountability for abuses and clear guardrails to stop raids and intimidation. Anything less would be a failure to meet this moment. The public has done its part, and now Congress must do theirs.

👉 Tell Congress to rein in ICE!

ICA Partner Action: Whistle Kit/Senate Debate Watch Party 2/19

Join Indivisible Elk Grove Township in blowing the whistle on ICE!

Whistle Kit making parties are a community safety practice rooted in resistance movements to help alert neighbors during immigration raids.

In moments like these, we’re reminded that protection is not just a policy, it’s a community responsibility.

Make new friends, watch the U.S. Senate debate, and discuss local and national issues, all while saving democracy by making Whistle Kits TOGETHER!

We will provide all you'll need, including zines, Know Your Rights cards, and whistle kit supplies! We ask that you take kits home with you to distribute to local business, neighbors, and anyone who is in this fight with us. Bring yourself, and perhaps a few friends!

👉 Join the event on Thursday, February 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Real Time Sports Bar & Grill (1120 W Devon Ave).

While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda.
