Indivisible Action: Stop the Healthcare Heist
Republicans in Congress have made healthcare cuts that will devastate working families, small businesses, and young adults—hitting hardest when open enrollment starts November 1 and most people on the Affordable Care Act find out about premium spikes for the first time.
The upcoming National Week of Action is a moment to tell the story of these harmful cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and the ACA. It’s time to say clearly that it’s Trump's shutdown and MAGA is responsible for causing pain to real people who are losing their healthcare.
👉 Call or write your Senators and Congresspeople, telling them you want them to continue to hold the line against healthcare cuts.
Contact Senator Durbin at 312-353-4952 or at other numbers listed here
Contact Senator Duckworth at 312-886-3506 or at other numbers listed here
Script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from Chicago. I’m calling you today first to thank you for consistently voting against the MAGA sham continuing resolution.
I want you to continue opposing cutting Medicaid or doing away with the tax credits in the ACA, and I also want you to do everything in your power to restore SNAP to the millions of people who need it to keep from going hungry. It’s so clear that the Republicans don’t care about the pain they are causing.
It is also important to me that you oppose the Executive Branch’s effort to bypass Congress in deciding how our tax money is spent. That undermines the Constitution and threatens all of what we need our government to do.
I want you to know I back your resolve. We don’t want cuts to health care or food assistance, so please continue to hang in on these demands! Use your position to keep talking publicly about what is at stake, and let us know if there are ways we can help you communicate about the pain MAGA is causing real people.
