Partner Action: Demand the Release of Gladis Yolanda Chavez Pineda
On June 4, ICE detained at least 10 people at a South Loop office — including Gladis Yolanda Chavez Pineda, a longtime Chicago resident, mother, grandmother, and community leader.
People were told to show up for routine ISAP check-ins — but instead, they were detained without warning. Elected officials and advocates who showed up to support were shoved by federal agents. Gladis followed the rules — and was punished for it.
We can't let this stand. Take action now:

On May 30, 2025, the White House proposed devastating cuts to FY2026 budget for climate science: NSF faces a 55% cut, NASA Earth science 52%, NOAA 39%, USGS 31%, and EPA 53%, with the research division OAR eliminated entirely.
The U.S. has led global efforts in weather prediction and climate science, saving lives and supporting communities. These drastic cuts threaten our ability to forecast weather, study climate change, and protect public safety.
👉 Congress must prioritize fully funding NOAA, NASA, NSF, EPA, USGS, and DOE to ensure continued advancements in weather and climate research vital to Americans.

Script: Hello, my name is [NAME] and I’m a constituent from [CITY, ZIP]. I’m calling to urge [REP/SEN NAME] to restore full funding and staffing for weather and climate research and prediction in the budget reconciliation bill and this year's appropriations process. These cuts have hurt our weather forecasts, stopped essential weather and climate research, and endangered lives.

Partner Action: Disappeared in America Mass Call 6/9
Trump believes he can make people disappear. We’re building a movement to prove him wrong. In America, the government can’t kidnap people, bypass courts, and send them to foreign prisons—that’s not who we are. But that’s what happened to Kilmar Abrego Garcia, Rui Marras, Juan Maldonado Zuniga, and others.
On June 26, we’re organizing a nationwide day of action to defend the rule of law and stop this abuse of power. Join our mass call on June 9 at 7 PM CT to learn how sheriffs are involved, and what you can do locally to push back.
