Tuesday, June 10 - Refugee Solidarity Rally 6/17 / Condemn Trump’s Use of National Guard / 4 Days Til No Kings Rally
Partner Action: Refugee Solidarity Rally Chicago 6/17
As the Trump administration ramps up its attacks, stand in solidarity with refugees for World Refugee Day.
World Refugee Day Chicago and supporters will demand that the Trump administration re-open the doors to this country and fully resume resettlement programs that enhance our communities and save lives.
This advocacy rally before World Refugee Day comes at a time of unprecedented attacks on refugees and the groups that help them. With the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program at a near standstill, thousands of families who were promised safety remain stranded in increasingly dangerous situations overseas. Loved ones are separated. A network of local resettlement agencies and community groups that serve refugees is starting to crumble, putting crucial support for refugees rebuilding their lives in Chicago at risk.
We will call on our leaders to restart the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program, reinstate contracts to welcome and fund newcomer services, and let this program do what it was built to do — save lives.
👉 Join the rally Tuesday, June 17, 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. at Daley Plaza (50 W Washington)

On June 6th, hundreds rallied in Los Angeles to protest ICE raids targeting migrant workers. During the protest, federal agents assaulted and arrested demonstrators, including union leaders. In response, Trump signed a memo deploying 2,000 National Guard members and alerting 500 Marines to support efforts against protests, despite LA Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom’s objections.
This unprecedented use of military force without state approval is a dangerous escalation of authoritarian tactics. The memo authorizes troops to protect federal immigration operations anywhere protests occur or are expected, risking military deployment in Democratic states.
👉 Elected officials must condemn and resist Trump’s assault on community rights and democracy.

ICA Action: 4 Days Til No Kings Rally!
As we plan for Saturday’s NO KINGS! rally at Daley Plaza, we face the threat of the Trump MAGA regime escalating its attacks, including deploying the military within our borders to intimidate and control.
Recent actions in Los Angeles show their willingness to violate our freedoms and rights. In response, thousands of Americans are organizing nationwide protests with over 1,600 planned events to demand: NO soldiers in our streets, NO disappearing neighbors, and NO dictatorship.
Chicago is a key city in this movement. We need you to join us and make your voice heard.
👉 Sign up today and stand against this assault on democracy.
