Partner Action: Stop the Aggressive ICE Raids and Attacks on Immigrants and Citizens
The Trump administration has continually attacked immigrant communities across the country with aggressive ICE raids, abusive and inhumane detention facilities, and targeted attacks on cities and minority groups to create fear and silence opposition.
ICE agents have used indiscriminate violence against legal observers and peaceful protesters. After one ICE agent in Minneapolis murdered U.S. citizen Renee Good yesterday, ICE leadership dismissed the attack as “self-defense” despite clear video evidence to the contrary.
Hundreds of U.S. citizens have been wrongfully detained and mistreated by federal agents, often as a result of racial profiling.
Thousands of immigrants arrested by border patrol have gone missing in Chicago following “Operation Midway Blitz” and in Miami from “Alligator Alcatraz.”
These increasingly grotesque, coercive, and illegal policies are glaring indicators of rising authoritarianism in America.

ICA Partner Action: Show Up Chicago 1/19 - The Budget Brouhaha
Show Up Chicago is a monthly community gathering/panel show/happy hour at Chicago's most highly evolved saloon. It’s a great opportunity to mix with like-minded neighbors, hear the latest from political insiders, and talk about what’s happening, what should be happening, and how we can make it happen.
Our topic this month will be the recent budget brouhaha: What happened? Why? What does it mean for city finances going forward, and for the balance of power between mayor and City Council?
Our speakers will be Matt Martin, the progressive alderman of the 47th Ward (he voted no), and Geoffrey Cubbage, senior policy analyst at the Better Government Association.
👉 Join the event on Monday, January 19 from 7 – 8:30pm at The Hideout (1354 W Wabansia Ave).
Doors open at 6, program runs 7-8:30. Free and open to all, but please RSVP.
