Friday, June 12 - Michigan Mondays / Show Up Chicago 6/15 / Postcard Party 6/16
ICA Action: Michigan Mondays
Join us as we call voters living in swing districts that are crucial for winning back power in the Midterms this November. We’ll be using an innovative approach developed by our friends at Swing Left called Ground Truth that focuses on having deep, meaningful conversations with voters. With Ground Truth we will:
Call all types of voters -- not just those we know will vote like us.
Have meaningful conversations that focus on listening to voters’ concerns.
Gather insights to share with campaigns, so they can be responsive to voters’ needs and smarter with their messaging, targeting, and outreach.
Indivisible Chicago phone banks attract enthusiastic and committed volunteers from all across the country. We provide training, background resources, and one-on-one support throughout your shift. We’ll be using a state-of-the-art autodialer that connects you quickly with voters.
👉 Join the Michigan Monday phone bank on Monday, June 15 — or following Mondays!
ICA Chapter Action: Show Up Chicago 6/15
Chicago is the only big city in the U.S. that doesn't operate under a city charter. And that, according to most experts, is why we have problems that other cities don't. Why don't we have a charter? What would it do for us? How do we get one? We'll discuss with Joe Ferguson, former city inspector general and president of the Civic Federation. It's the first installment of "Chicago 101," our new series on the inner workings of Chicago politics.
Presented monthly by the Blue Beginning chapter of Indivisible Chicago, Show Up Chicago is a combination community gathering, cocktail hour, and political panel show at Chicago's most highly evolved saloon. It's a great chance to mingle with like-minded neighbors, hear the latest from political insiders, and gossip about the issues we all care about.
👉 RSVP for Show Up Chicago on Monday, June 15 at the Hideout (1354 W Wabansia Ave). Doors and bar open at 6, program 7-8:30.
ICA Chapter Action: Indivisible Postcard Party in Lincoln Square 6/6
Join Indivisible Lincoln Square in June and July to save democracy by writing postcards to voters in Michigan to get out the vote in the November election. We will provide the postcards, the addresses, and the script. You provide the stamps for the postcards you write or donate!
Why write postcards to Michigan? This is a state race, but one with national implications. We will be reminding voters how important it is to vote in this election. In Michigan the Senate, Governor, Secretary of State, and Attorney General. are up for election in the midterms. These need to remain in the hands of Democrats to protect our democracy!
While some of these Daily Actions come from our own work as Indivisible Chicago Alliance, others are from our many partners working to advance the progressive agenda. We invite you to join us in supporting their work. Postings from community partners do not imply Indivisible Chicago Alliance endorsement of specific policies and positions.
