ICA Action: Michigan Canvass 9/13
Come and join Indivisible Chicago talking to voters in the critical swing state of Michigan. We'll listen to voters, talk about our candidates and underline the importance of voting in this year's Midterms elections.
We'll make the 90-minute drive from Chicago to where we’re headed in Michigan. After a pre-canvass briefing, we'll split off into pairs to knock doors and talk with voters. We'll provide all the info and prep you'll need and will have carpools for anyone needing a ride.

Community Action: Disclose Profits from Immigration Enforcement
We are trying to get companies that contract with the city of Chicago to be transparent if they are profiting from immigration enforcement. In that regard, the Immigration Enforcement Disclosure Ordinance (2025-21035), is officially on the agenda for the City Council's Committee on Contracting Oversight and Equity on Tuesday, September 22. If it passes committee, it will go before the full City Council the very next day, Wednesday, September 23.

Suggested script: "My name is [NAME], and I live at [ADDRESS]. I'm submitting public comment in support of Ordinance 2025-21035, the Immigration Enforcement Disclosure Ordinance, sponsored by Alderman La Spata.
Chicago residents deserve to know when their tax dollars are going to companies that profit from immigration enforcement — including contracts with ICE or Border Patrol. This ordinance simply requires disclosure: contractors only have to disclose whether they profit from immigration enforcement, and the Chief Procurement Officer then makes that information public and reports it annually to the Council. It doesn't ban any contractor — it just requires honesty and transparency about who the City is doing business with.
I urge the Committee on Contracting Oversight and Equity to vote YES and move this ordinance out of committee."
